An interesting and unique connection between an Orthodox Rabbi and a Secular psychotherapist. Rabbi Yehuda Kornfeld and Dr. Neta Peleg-Oren have founded Jidenity and developed first time in USA advanced programs for Israeli parents who grow up their children outside of Israel
The goal is to strengthen the Jewish and Israeli identity of second and third generation children of Israeli parents living abroad.
The programs do not focus on religion or religious practice but rather on Identity and connection.
Identity and belonging are two basic elements in our mental development as human being.
But what happens to our Israeli and Jewish identity and belonging when we live outside of Israel? More importantly, how does this impact our children living outside of Israel?
Developmental psychology teaches us that experiences shape our identity. Assuming that your experience has shaped your identity,
the questions that beg to be asked are:
1) Do your children share the same experiences as you?
2) Do the experiences that your children have affect them in a similar way as well?
3) Where does our responsibility as parents and educators come in to help your children develop a Jewish and Israeli identity?
4) What impact will your identity and belonging have on the next generation?
If questions like these or similar ones have been on your mind and it is important to you to give your children the best, this program is for you!
Each program has three parts:
Jewish and Israeli identity.
Target audience
Israeli parents raising children of all ages outside of Israel. Our program is all beneficial for community leaders, educators, counselors and students working with Israeli-American families.
Tools:
Providing theoretical knowledge on the subject of identity and belonging in general and Jewish Israeli identity in particular using experiential guidance to learn the importance and new tools.

The Jewish community faces serious problems with assimilation and challenges of reaching our young. Survey shows that the assimilation of the children of Israeli parents is much higher than of the Jewish population in general (75% compare to 56%). JIdentity mission is to develop advanced program for parents whose goal is to strengthen the Jewish and Israeli identity of second and third generation children of Israeli parents living abroad. The program does not focus on religion or religious practice but rather on Identity and connection.
Please consider making a gift that will help us grow the impact of this valuable mission!
